Sound Devices

1. Rhyme- using same words that sound the same two times
2. Repetition- using the same words twice
3. Alliteration- the same letter in the beginning for every word in the line

Devices

1. Symbol- is an object, person, or idea that stands for something beyond itself
2. Imagery- is when the reader gets a picture in their mind when reading
3. Figurtive Language- Is a writing or speech that is not meant to be taken literally

Forms & Purpose

1. Narrative- tells a story
2. Ballad(narrative)- a poem that tells a story in a serious tone
3. Lyric- a form of poetry with rhyming
